Born and raised on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, Eli Cecil first discovered his passion for glass while studying at Salisbury University, where an introductory course in glass blowing quickly became a lifelong pursuit. Drawn to the balance of fire, motion, and precision, he devoted himself to mastering the art of shaping molten glass into expressive forms that reflect the balance between humanity and nature.
After graduating, Eli relocated to West Palm Beach, Florida, where he deepened his craft within a thriving community of contemporary glass artists. During this time, he collaborated with renowned Italian glass artist Fabiano, whose mentorship refined Eli’s technique and broadened his creative perspective. Together, they explored the fusion of traditional Venetian craftsmanship with modern design sensibilities.
Now back home in Salisbury, Maryland, Eli has opened Glass Half Full, his own glass studio and gallery dedicated to creativity, collaboration, and community engagement. The studio serves as both a workspace and an educational hub—offering glass blowing classes, demonstrations, and exhibitions that bring people closer to the art and science of glass. Those interested can easily contact us for more information. Eli’s work embodies a dynamic blend of precision and spontaneity, tradition and innovation—capturing the fluid beauty of glass in every piece.

Jeff Mick was born and raised on Maryland’s Eastern Shore and first encountered glassblowing during a family skiing trip to Vermont — an experience that sparked a creative path he would continue to refine for years to come. He earned his degree in fine arts with a concentration in glassblowing from Salisbury University, later returning as a teaching assistant and studio technician, deepening both his technical mastery and commitment to education.
Jeff’s work spans functional vessels, sculptural forms, and neon integrated with soft-glass compositions. His advanced training at the Corning Museum of Glass strengthened his expertise in murrini, intricate sandblasting, and sculptural techniques incorporating photosensitive decals. He later rekindled his passion for community-based artistry at Jacksonville University before spending three years traveling internationally with Celebrity Cruise Line, further honing his versatility and adaptability.
Now serving as Senior Glass Artist at Glass Half Full, Jeff brings a seasoned artisanal hand and intuitive sense of timing to the studio. Drawing from his background as a professional chef, he often compares glassblowing to cooking — a craft defined by heat, timing, and communication. His work reflects both discipline and spontaneity, merging technical precision with expressive energy in every piece.
